Pittsburg, Kansas | Great post. Thanks for sharing.
A good buddy of mine had basically the same experience. Went from diabetic diagnosis to non-diabetic because of change of diet. But he was a fairly new diagnosed. That was his wake up call that he better do something about his creeping up weight. He had observed my wife and I starting a ketogenic diet one year before and saw our results. So he and his wife did the same with great results. Lead by example I guess? They claim we saved their lives (she has Parkinson's and controls it to a great degree with diet). They just saved their own lives by choosing a better way of eating.
I can't seem to get the fasting blood sugar to behave. My post prandial is great, with my pancreas putting out enough insulin even if I challenge it a little. I never challenge it greatly so not sure about that. My morning reading is always around 120-130. Often times after meal reading no worse or maybe up to 140 or so. Would like to see that morning reading around 80-100. Oh well. Guess after taking insulin shots for 25 years can't expect everything to go back to perfect. Last A1c 5.8. Fasting insulin....... think it was 6.9 but can't remember for sure. Was single digits I know for sure. From what I have learned that insulin level says I should be pretty insulin sensative.
