Malta, Illinois | In the 70's and 80's I always thought their food was pretty good. We stopped at one about ten years ago and the food was mediocre at best. The pieces of chicken were so small I am not even sure they were chicken. With that in mind we hadn't stepped foot in one in al least ten years. Last summer we were on a little day trip and wanted a snack. The wife mentioned that we hadn't tried KFC in years so lets give it a try. We walked in the the stale grease smell about knocked me down. The floor appeared greasy as and the place just seemed overall filthy. We walked up to the counter and after getting a look at the help and the conditions behind the counter we bolted and went elsewhere. While I'm sure stores vary greatly based off of the individual franchisee, I don't think we will ever darken the door again. We vary rarely eat fast food anyway. | |
