When coverage gets to $1 to $3 of coverage, I probably won’t buy it. $1 for $5 of coverage and I’ll be in.
Just depends on the risk and the total amount of coverage.
When crop prices are low you can buy up to higher coverage and probably need to to maintain adequate income. When prices are low you won’t be insuring for as many dollars per acre.
With higher prices, you may not need as much coverage unless inputs are high with it. In some cases you can go with a little less coverage and still cover costs. |
