PatrickMahomes69 - 2/19/2025 16:29 Just curious, how far ahead in tech was Case and Deere in the late 80s compared to White and other brands?

They weren't as big, but the 3000 series Massey's that were launched in 1986 were still a long way ahead in terms of tech, and Fendt would have been further ahead again

In the US, particularly the Midwest…you would have a had time finding many MFs…..and probably couldn’t find a Fendt at all….. to compare.

That is what I was responding to. Other brands, Deere, Case and the North American market wasn't and still isn't the only gig in town.

A place I worked in 1993 had one of the first Magnums in the country, it was a 1989 7130. A decent tractor, but not without it's mechancal issues. The farm has spread all over the place and the Magnum was noticably slower than all of the other tractors on the mixed fleet. It was a good tractor and they bought a new 7110 in 1990 on the strength of it. That had a new engine and transmission at under 3000 hours. The driver had a Fendt in a previous life, which may have been a 611LS and said he thought the Fendt was still the better tractor.
