Having owned both, boxcar magnums were a more sophisticated, newer generation than soundguard J.D.s. and they were superior. They were bigger, quieter, more powerful, had roomier cabs, better hydraulics, brakes, steering, were more comfortable and had a superbly smooth p/s transmission They were a revolutionary tractor at that time and really had the coffee shop talking.
