They weren't as big, but the 3000 series Massey's that were launched in 1986 were still a long way ahead in terms of tech, and Fendt would have been further ahead again
If I recall correctly, the 3000 series MF's were French made and had a lot of electrical gremlins that gave them a bad reputation.
