Floyd County, Iowa | I have the program installed on the laptop. I do the books on our desktop, then backup the data to a flash drive. The problem is that when I try to restore the qbb (quick books backup) from the flashdrive, I go through the process of restore, but when it gets to the point where I assign it a destination, I don't get any Quickbooks destinations. It wants me to pick a Windows file, but none are Intuit.
Before, when I backed up from the desktop (QB 2015 on Win 7 machine) and restored to a laptop (the same program, same operating system, different machine) it restored fine. It would just restore from within QuickBooks without having to follow the Windows file trail and pick destinations.
I've tried many times in the past, and somewhere, sometime, it must have worked restoring to this laptop, because I have farm records and data from 1996 to June of 2022. But I can't get it to go now. I've been a QuickBooks user from the early 1990's, both in a retail business, until 2002, with full blown accounting (AP, AR, GL, Inventory, Payroll), and for the farm (to the present) and never had issues before this. Frustrating.
I always liked to have it on the laptop in case the desktop died. | |
