The only positive benefit I can see is IF, a big if, they use quality LED's they may never need to be replaces. With good quality components they may outlive the vehicle. Of course crash repairs are not going to be cheap so insurance costs up.
Quality is not going up. Price some of these newer HID bulbs and ballasts
