Why does everyone respond saying the LH lane is for passing. That's certainly not new.
I was asking about driving @ the speed limit in the LH lane. What does the law say about passing speed limit. Can I crank it to 113 (I think that's the computer limit in the Silverado) in the Monfort Lane to get around someone driving a constant 70 in the RH lane?
And...one more thing. There ought to be a law requiring use of cruise control on 4-lanes, especially if you're in front of a semi. Nothing more frustrating than driving 70 in a semi & have someone pass you going 85, only to get in front of you & then go 69, 68, 71, 75, 68, etc. Of course, you absolutely know what will happen when they're going 68 in front of you and you're in a semi. As you decide to pass and get out in the LH lane, they return to the previous 75 mph. By now, there's 3 cars that have taken your place in the RH lane & don't leave room to squeeze back in.
If you don't agree, that's fine.
Ron, I will catch hell for this, but I drive in the left lane a lot, and I don't get back over after every car I pass.
If I'm passing 90% of the cars, I stay in the left lane.
That said, I keep a good eye on the rear view mirror, and if someone comes up behind me, I pull over and get out of their way. |
