Subject: Seeding alfalfa after sulfentrazone

Mitchell, SD
I have a small area that I would like to plant alfalfa. Was soybeans last year. Late planting due to weather caused a June 12 application of sulfentrazone (6oz) and metribuzin (5oz). PH would be mid 6’s. We had 10” rain shortly after application followed by a “normal” July and early Aug. Has been extremely dry since. Notill ground for 15+ yrs. I see rotation restrictions are 12 months following application. How big of a risk do you think it will be if we plant alfalfa in early May? Thanks for advice. Never planted alfalfa before.
