Are there any drawbacks to disconnecting the battery so often? I know on my old vehicles, the radio presets would be lost. Are there learned parameters for the engine management system that would have to be re-learned every time the battery was re-connected?

I don't like to re-program the radio presets, so I would be inclined to permanently install a battery tender, and just plug it in whenever the vehicle wasn't in use.
