| I currently have DeLaval milk jars. These are the all-glass 65lbs ones. There are still a couple around for when a cow dashes one to pieces, but they want 700/piece! I had of thought of putting these on a scale, and had worked it out with Rice Lake Scales, but a bunch of cows are overfilling the jars on DHI day, and I couldn't find a glassblower shop willing/able to extend them.
I love being able to see the milk, otherwise I'd go to milk meters. Manually recording milkweights for DHI or trying to keep track of each cow's production from memory is starting to be problematic though.
The DeLaval jars never build up a scum here; are the Germania ones worse? | |
