Subject: RE: Tombstones

I don't want a stone either. Why? Because cemetaries aren't necessarily forever and I'm figuring it's only a matter of time before somebody wants that land for something else. Everyone that knows you will be gone too in just a few decades, so, that whole part of the cemetary will eventually go abandoned and be a place no one visits. You see gravestones that say right on them "Perpetual Care", but I don't really think that's realistic. Do you really expect someone to weedwhack around your stone 1,000 years from now? Not to mention, if you get something nice, it's only a matter of time before it gets vandalized. People can't leave nothing alone! One of the worst cases I've heard of and there is videos on YouTube that told the story about a family who built a big grand mausoleum overlooking a beautiful view on a hilltop. It had beautiful stained glass windows, a big thick door that I think was made out of bronze, and it was just really elaborate. Well, over the years vandals destroyed those stained glass windows, the bronze door was stolen for scrap, and then a Satanic Cult group broke into the crypt and took the remains out and burned them in a ritual bonfire.

What I want is to be cremated and my ashes scattered, that way. I can be at rest and theres nothing to be dug up, vandalized, desecrated, or just fall into general disrepair over time. Because to me, there is nothing sadder than seeing something falling apart in a cemetary and there is no one around who cares anymore, so it just stays that way.
