The Internet

The Donald made a point in one of his speaches about why there are no US made cars in the EU, I'll tell you why.

Ford and GM sold a lot of cars that were engineered in Europe for European tastes and Ford were top sellers or thereabouts for decades. They have recently lost their minds, stopped selling the best selling car in Europe for decades (Fiesta, great car) and are trying to sell us uninspiring SUV/crossover things but not at Ford prices.

Ford, GM and Chysler all tried to sell US domestic ,market products in Europe and all failed, because, if I'm being king, the cars weren't to our tastes, if I'm being less kind, the cars were crap. People like Amerciana and Amercian brands, but your cars and bikes are awful, so build better products and people might buy them.

I've said before and will say again, you're more than happy to flood our markets with your brands, Coke, Pepsi, McDonalds, Nike, all social media, lots of music and movies, expensive hand tools and you wnat to flood our food market with produce produced to standards were are not allowed to produce to, but when we/other countries import into the US you get very upset.

I witnessed it first hand when I lived in te USA and see it on here all the time how you always want USA made products, which is fine, but then don't be surprised when there are more competive products avaliable, but the products you buy aren't as good because there's no compition. Going back to cars, people are more than happy to pay over the odds for a German car, a Bentley, Rolls Royce or a Range Rover, because they are a luxury good, the USA doesn't have anything to match those. Harley Davidson went crying to Reagan to impose tarrifs on imported bikes becaue they were getting their arse handed to them by the Germans and the Japanese, even with tarriffs, they still can't compete, still make crap bikes and are still in trouble. What they should have done was rise to the challenge.

You're in a very fortunate position with such a huge, resouce rich land mass
