I’m not Phil N. I’m Phil_R and a CPAg for a lot of years. I have worked in Colorado under irrigation (personally planted and harvested in 12+ states). Here’s my thoughts on your situation. I think you should target dropping 1.4 to 1.6 million seeds per acre. The later you plant, the more seeds to drop because you’re losing/limiting time for tillering. On a sq foot basis, this is 32 to 37 plants. On a sq meter basis, this is 154,880 to 174,240. Years ago, I planted the first Ascend treated spring wheat in Idaho. I recommend doing this. Get it in, get it up, established, and growing. Best wishes - raise those bushels.
