Near-north Ontario, French River | Here alot of guys ran into problems with winter surivival of their wheat. For well over a month elevators let guys roll contracts but at some point the number of contracts being rolled put a serious pinch on the elevators to be able to fill their own contracts with processors and rolling was eventually ceased. I think you simply waited to long to deal with the wheat freeze issue and the elevators have now stopped allowing the rolling of contracts, in part to protect the sales commitments they have. Sure there may be a way to buy your way out but its going to be expensive, had you made arrangements to get out when the freeze hit it probably wouldnt have cost you much at alal. Several posters here discussed the options at the time. I'm afraid you may be up the proverbial creak. |
