Yes, truck drivers running Michigan doubles were making about $16/hr just 4 years ago. Prob $18-20 now. But they can turn a lot of hrs. But then the local county road drivers make more per hr with lots of fringe but those are tax dollars.
Used to be the private sector paid a bit more than public sector because the public sector had job security and better fringe but now it is the opposite. The pubic sector has higher wages and better fringe. And the public sector pays more than the private sector because they can. Will we all be working for the government at some point in time? I wonder how that will work out.
