SCMN | There is a very wide range in the dollar amount on these loans taken by farmers in my area. Some have taken $150,000 some have taken that amount for every person or entity in the operation. Many between 20K to 50K, many nothing. Is it a sure thing that this money will be forgiven? These farms are not suffering. These farms were never suffering. The ones who took the higher amounts seem to be ones known locally for being on the crooked side.
I don't need this money and I haven't taken any yet, along with many others in my area. Are we setting ourselves up to be at a big disadvantage if/when these loans are forgiven? Should every person be taking as many dollars as possible and just paying them back later?
Just like the loans that were written down in the 80's? Some of these operations who took $150K+ are the same ones who took those write downs and are now the bigger farms in the area.
