Humboldt IA | My theory has been that the 2018 crop was overstated, at least in our neck of the woods. We had 35"+ of snow from March 24 to about April 19, 2018. Then from May 1 to about October 10 we had 41" of rain, and we didn't get the worst of the rain. Crop was 20% below APH.
Fast forward to the first week in October 2019, and Cargill in Ft Dodge basis is +30 cents on corn. Not a bushel of old crop corn anywhere around here, and it was way too muddy to harvest new crop. That's what happened in my backyard...and I know it's pretty damn small.
