So say you buy an Aug. soy put to get you thru the fill stage in pod development. That is trading today @ $13.43. So say you buy a $13 put = .84 cents. 5 million bu. X .84 cents is $4,200,000!!!!!!! Ha ha. Ok, so maybe you buy a front month bean put, same scenario. Let's pick an April put. Today closed around $14.13. So pick a $14 put.= 60 cents for easy math. 5 million X .60 = $3 million.
