Subject: Switching acres

WC MN
How many acres can be switched to corn or beans that were not already slated for corn or beans? Some wheat acres tore up? Some shifted from cotton? Are guys that have contracts in specialty crops willing to give those up to chase moderately high NC corn and bean prices for a year or 2? I know sugar beet guys are small acres but they do not have the ability to switch away. Be interested to see where the numbers add up, especially if other markets like edible beans mentioned below start inching up or have been inching up as well.

I am not saying that these NC prices are not good or profitable, but they are just not something that is that great yet. Against a 5 year chart they look great. Against a 10 or 20 year chart they do not look so great.
