Northern Illinois | We own a few shares of a local bank (not the one where farm accounts are but have accounts at bank). I think it is a good way to invest in the community. A person likely isn't able to invest in local businesses. We also have shares in other larger regional banks. My grandfather and my parents have done this and I have continued. Our investment as mentioned is VERY small. I like the idea but would not want a large % of my investment $$ tied to a small local bank. | |
