E SD | That is interesting that they would advertise for investors, most of the time small banks are wanting to eliminate and buy out small shareholders.
Most likely they are looking to raise capital which should raise some questions.
There are a number of factors I would suggest also before plunging ahead:
Is the local market growing or contracting?
What is the competition like and prospect of being able to sell it someday (exit plan)?
What is the condition of the staff, your bank management and lenders are basically the bank.
You can get some general idea about the banks profitability via the call reports, but buying in any significant amount I certainly would want to take a hard look at the asset quality (loans) and review some individual balance sheets.
What is their CAMEL rating? (this is undisclosed to the public)
