Believe me we've tried that. But between native land claims, "green" socialist political parties running BC, and a Liberal federal government that's trying hard to shut down the entire fossil fuel industry - Keystone looked simpler and easier. Until now. We can't even extend an existing line to a big refinery on the east coast so they buy their crude from the middle east.
