| After my discussion with the local ethanol plant this spring about buying a years worth of corn at the spring lows. I came to an understanding that they only use futures to offset risk the day the corn was bought, IE hedge the biproduct and inputs the same day. I don’t agree with this philosophy while grains are at multi year lows, but that is how managers run these places.
It is also a reason I was told never talk to the manager again. | |
