S Illinois | The Carter embargo was a feel good action that had little impact. Everyone remembers the limit down days following but fail to mention the fact that markets with in a month were right where they started. It also had little effect on what would follow in the 80's. The strong dollar, excessive loan rates on grain stimulating world wide production and interest rates were the big players. | |
