Amherst WI | Of course we spend money in town but how much of it is staying there when all these out of town suppliers that supply your local JD dealer or fertilizer plant isn’t anywhere close where your farm is?
If you had $3 corn with $3 input prices and $3 machinery prices is anyone locally making any more money than when you have $5 corn, $5 inputs and $5 machinery prices? Probably not. How about $3 with $5 inputs and $5 machinery prices? Then what?
Stuff is still going to wear out Deere stockholders will have to make due with margins on a $200,000 instead of $250,000 for the same tractor because the farmer won’t pay it.
