Ethanol isn't going anywhere as the world will wise up to the pollution and human rights abuses battery powered cars cause. Cities will replace mass transit with driverless electric cars but long stance fueling along with larger cars will use ethanol in a pure form or mixed with water in a hydrogen fuel cell.
