E.Central MN | Is this a discussion about a grain coop or the farm credit system bank? When we borrowed from an FCS bank, they required that we borrow a little more than what we needed and it was retained at the bank, kind of like a membership fee. A couple years later when the various FCS banks started merging together, they found that they weren't all operating the same way so they dropped that requirement and just applied it to the principal that we owed. | |
