mn | The reason stocks involving EV skyrocketed is because the king is mandating EV in his empire and is planning to mandate the rest of us to follow. I would guess the majority of the population could care less about owning an EV. Talks of being forced into them will result in more resistance to them. I know the big talk is reliability, but there is no way these manufacturers are going to give up their cash cow of parts and repairs. Planned obsolescence or planned failure is my guess of what will happen.
On the semi, I just read the other day that they are halting production until they can build their own batteries. So I'm guessing it will be a couple more years until they get out there.
Making the whole world rely on on single source for all power needs seems like a worse idea. Especially with the vulnerability of our power grid.
I don't think the transition will happen that fast. Many people don't want electric and it's a minority of the population that buys new vehicles. With the claimed reliability, the used market is going to be slim.
I have no doubt we will see an increase in EV, but we have a lot of problems to solve before they are the majority. | |
