In most conditions I like our Schlagels.
I wouldn't get worried about the neighbors corn coming up 1 day sooner. Unless you eliminate all of the other variables (tillage, seed depth, corn hybrid, seed size, moisture in the field, soil type, etc) that across the fence comparison means nothing.
If you want to do a comparison put a row or two of some other type of wheel on your planter and roll.
