This isn't really the environment that you want to be in bonds...Government turmoil and no confidence in government will move money away from bonds to the stock market for safety. This fund you mention is a short term bond fund...it should do better than the long term bonds...

You could wait for the pullback in the market it should test the low without breaking it...that is when you might want to get into a blue chip or a mid cap fund if you can find one that is open. Well...that's what I would do in your situation...
