I no a lot of poor people who do what they want. The one thing they don’t do and/or work to become, is wealthier then there current state and/or educate themselves to become more prosperous.
Books are cheap and the only way to understand/learn how to become more prosperous in any situation that you are born into. The learning part is not easy mind you, and that’s why a lot of people do not do it.
It reminds me of this quote I read in Poor Charlie’s Almanac. “Many would rather die then think, and many do”. I don’t believe it was Charlie Munger who originally said the quote but he uses it.
