southwestern illinois | I reseeded my parents yard this spring. after about 4 years of mom saying that she wished her lawn looked like mine i took the challenge. I started by spreading lime pellets across the lawn. Renting a lawn aerator was my next step..it was the type that poked holes into the soil. I then spread a fertilizer with low nitrogen and then broadcasted a heavy rate of seed over top. I purchased a new drag harrow thats like a chain link fence with heavier links, the harrow is aggressive one way and is a leveler when reversed. the harrow was a 4' model that i pulled with the 4 wheeler. A couple months later its looking great and today i sprayed the lawn with 2-4d to kill the broadleaves . I did many things to make sure it was done right even though its like 4 acres. good luck. | |
