Central Alberta | My best trick is to roundup the whole thing, rototill it well, then go over it with knobby tires, leaving little dimples on the surface. spread the seed over it and water/mist daily as needed.
You may think the seeds need to be buried, but that's not how nature does it. The seeds germinate in the dimple in a perfect little microclimate, and it comes up much faster than when you bury the seeds. They are also less exposed to soil borne pathogens. | |
