Southeast Colorado | What's always cool about raising the minimum wage.............is what do you do with the people that have been loyal and worked themselves all the way up to something less than the new minimum wage?
In Colorado..........we've recently graduated to $12. I'm on the school board.............Janitors/cooks/etc. have been caught in a bind. Talk about blowing out a districts budget!
If you have 10 year employees that have been earning an extra 50 cents an hour a year and have raised their wage all the way now to $13...............only to be told you now pay newcomers 15................what do you now pay the veterans?
Simultaneously they are sending districts less money.................or in the stupid case of Covid.............they send crazy amounts of money that can only be used for Covid things like plastic shields and disinfectants. Once you have a 10 year supply of Lysol secured.............you just don't need any more. You need funds to pay the extra wages you're requiring..............but your rules specifically deny that.
Just add this onto more crap for the crap show.
