Do not mean to pour water over your idea. We run suspensions thru a modified row machine and they are just a different animal. My first question is are you used to dealing with them? Once we get a load and it sits more than 1 hr then I am agitating the mix as it has already started to settle out so you have to be able to manage them. Personally putting them thru a strip till machine could be done but IMHO not real easily.

We had some suspension run custom in strip till for a couple years and it is my understanding operator had to stop with some what regularity to blow out stopped up tubes. This was a Krause Gladiator.

The biggest issue with liquid is the volume issue you mentioned. The highest % suspension mix we ran this spring was a 14-0-18-2.4S which at 500# (about 45 gal) = plant food of 70-0-90-15S. We have run up to a 20-22% K mix but that gets pretty viscous and difficult to pump. I can't remember how Phosphorus plays in suspensions as we get our P from manure and so do not put it in our suspension mixes.

A clear would be much easier to handle but as you probably know that is even more volume as % of nutrients would be much lower.

I have thought about this over the last couple of years and basically came to the conclusion that dry strip till would be the way to go for us.....if we were going to strip till.
