Northern Ohio Grain | I used to be in the removal camp, but have come to the realization that if your soil tests are high, those removal dollars you are spending have a zero return on investment. I'm not against fertilizer. If something needs addressed by all means spend money to correct the issue. But I'm after ROI not bragging rights.
Have one farm that I need to go back and see what the oldest test is, but has tested high for a long time. Other than a little 10-34-0 in the starter it has not had any P broadcast in 10+ years. And guess what it's still high. I would hate to guess the amount of money I could have spent on removal P in the last 10+ years.
