Southern MN | Kind of interesting there have been many “greenies” coming out in the past few years in favor of nuclear power. A couple interesting talks on TED I believe. One has been an environment activist for years and talks about how after seeing all the negative effects of renewable energy to wildlife, the stuff needed to make solar panels and wind towers, and the pretty much disaster that Germany has had pushing solar power that nuclear is by far the best and safest for the environment.
Another one has a young woman who is a nuclear physicist if I remember right. She talks about the nuclear disasters and how actually the toll to human life was so much less that was feared, even during Chernobyl which was probably a much worse disaster than most people realize. Also the total nuclear waste created to this point is far much less than you would be led to believe, like a small room partially full. Also they think they are on the edge of nuclear technology that does not produce the nuclear waste like traditional plants.
