Basis was strangely strong for all the bushels we had, and spreads were narrow. That told guys to hold old crop. At what point do you capitulate?
I am sure they have a tough job. To be off by 300,000,000 in March is one thing. On a percentage basis that is not much. To be off that much all summer long is ridiculous. And who will be held accountable? Answer me that. Who is going to stand up and say it was their fault that thousands of producers who did what the market was telling them to do ended up selling for a loss?
And I don’t want to hear about going long the board. They had it in the bin. | |
