I sealed my 19 production which I haven’t done in over 25 years. I figured USDA was either lying and or incompetent. (no way in hell the carry outs would be what they said)
Summer of 2020 Covid further beat us with the club.
CCC loans were extended but I had already used bank money to buy back.
Locally corn was sub three dollars, beans sub eight dollars.
Would not ever consider myself to be a great grain marketer. I white knuckled the grain into the fall of 2020 and scaled up sales from 3.25 to 4.00/ 9 to 11.00....
I basis contracted most of it (dec./nov)which worked out good to gain the bin space and time,, they allowed me to roll further out to my surprise.
30% to go on 2020 crop,,
0 nc sold - probably should get some locked in
No one knows where we go from here...
Black swan/politics/etc.
It does help, not to look to this forum for free meaningful advice....
